As Kazakhstan gained independence the 1st of May holiday was preserved and named the Kazakhstan's Nations Unity Day as per the Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev Decree dated 18 October 1995.

We are the people of our state and we are united regardless of our confessions and nationalities. Our country is our home we jointly protect. Together we are proud of our achievements and together we mourn in sad and grieve moments.

Kazakhstan's Nations Unity Day is our holiday because we have faith in our country, its power and strength.
